UNIT-I:

                                      Introduction to COBOL:- COBOL words-Literals-Structure of COBOL program-COBOL coding sheet-IDENTIFICATION DIVISION-ENVIRONMENT DIVISION- DATA DIVISION- Editing & Non editing clauses-Level numbers- VALUE &FILTER CLAUSES.

UNIT-II:

                                   PROCEDURE DIVISION - DATA MOVEMENT VERB- Arithmetic verb-add ,subtract,multiply,divide,compute- Input/Output Statement- Accept,Display control verbs. GOTO Depending on = STOP RUN CORRESPONDING option- Rounded option on size ERROR OPTION - SIMPLE .

UNIT III:

                              CONDITIONAL STATEMENTS :- IF statement - Nested  if statement - sign condition - Class condition- Condition name- Compound condition - Perform Statements more about DATA DIVISION - RENAME - REDEFINES simple programs using above verbs .

UNIT IV: 

                             Files in COBOL: Sequential- Relative - Indented Sequential - Random Files - Files Description & record description entries - INPUT / OUTPUT VERB. Open, Read, Write , Close, Delete - SORT VERB - SIMPLE PROGRAMS using Verbs .

UNIT V: 

                           Table Handling : Occur clauses - Two & Multi - Dimensional Tables occurs- INDENTED by clauses - SET VERB- START & SEARCH verb - RANDOM FILES KEYS & their importance- Invalid key clauses -  SCREEN section - simple program using verbs .
